We donate each spring to support this Church of the Brethren tradition of canning chicken, which is processed and canned at Christian Aid Ministries in Ephrata, PA. The cans are then distributed to areas of need around the world and in the U.S.
The Growing Project is part of Growing Hope Globally. Since 2006, we donate money to a local Church of the Brethren congregation in our area that has acreage set aside on their local farm. A field crop is planted in spring and harvested in fall. The money from the harvest is then sent to a developing country which is different each year. To date, $473,000 has been raised to help fight hunger. There are 6 other Church of the Brethren congregations who help in this effort.
