A life of Faith and Service

Pastor Gideon was born and raised in a loving family in Martinsburg, West Virginia, that instilled in him the values of faith, compassion, service, and love. From a young age, he felt a deep connection to his faith community and was actively involved in church, but didn’t fully accept his call until after many trials. Through these trials, he heard God's call on his life and decided to take God at His word and trust in His plans.

Pastor Gideon is a licensed minister pursuing his higher education at Shenandoah Valley Ministry Center, where he is working towards his ordination. During his time at SVMC, he has deepened his understanding of religious texts, history, and pastoral care. His academic journey continues to grow through practical experiences, such as serving as a deacon at his home church, Mountain View Church of the Brethren, filling in as pulpit supply at different congregations, serving on the board of directors for the Emmaus community, and speaking at various spiritual and church engagements.

After three years of exploring his call to ministry, Pastor Gideon was licensed and began his ministry at Welty Church of the Brethren. He has gradually become part of the Welty family, where he plans to help lead them into a deeper knowledge and relationship with God through His Word. In a joint effort with the congregation, Pastor Gideon's leadership will be instrumental in growing the congregation and fostering a sense of unity and purpose among its members.

Pastor Gideon believes that faith should be lived out through love and service to others. He has been involved in numerous community initiatives, including food banks, youth programs, and support groups for those in need. His commitment to the community is to share the light and love of Christ, promote peace, and serve those in need.

Outside of his pastoral duties, Pastor Gideon enjoys spending time with his big family, playing with his grandson, hunting and fishing, and working on little projects around the house. These things provide him with a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle, allowing him to enjoy the simple things in life. Pastor Gideon is happily married to Kristie, and together they have three children and a dog named Bailey. Their family provides them with invaluable support and inspiration as they continue their journey of faith and service.

Pastor Gideon remains dedicated to his mission of spreading faith, hope, and love wherever he goes. He continues to inspire and uplift the Church, always seeking new ways to serve and make a difference in the world. Pastor Gideon’s unwavering faith and tireless dedication to his calling make him a beacon of light and a source of strength for all who know him.
